Welcome to Whole and Honeyed! My name is Nathalie and I created this blog to share my love for food and the ways it influences my life. I’ve always loved and appreciated good food, but only recently did I begin to appreciate the wholesome ingredients that go into good food.
Becoming a vegetarian at age five (due to my love for animals) left me with little choices for food (or so I thought). Grilled cheeses and quesadillas consumed most of my diet. However, I was lucky enough that my mom, an amazing cook, knows the importance of wholesome ingredients and their ability to fuel growing bodies. It was not until I entered college that I finally began to realize how much food was impacting me.
Late nights and more work than I had ever dealt with before left me tired and unable to focus when I needed to the most. I started to monitor what I was eating and how it made me feel. Once I started cutting foods out that I noticed were making me feel tired and unproductive, I incorporated more foods with wholesome ingredients into my diet. I noticed a world of difference in my energy levels and overall how my body felt!
I have found love and joy in exercising, cooking, and most importantly eating. I now realize that healthy food CAN taste good and I'm here to prove it! Taking care of my body is numero uno, especially because I am stuck with it for life! I hope to share with you the ways in which I nourish my body and how to eat some dang good food!
